The three 122-foot blades, slowly turning 383 feet in the air behind Narragansett Regional Middle-High School, will provide an appropriate backdrop for the graduating class of 2010. They will also serve to enhance students’ education and bring the town and school into a cleaner world of green energy. The new turbine, just beginning to operate, is expected to generate 5 percent of the energy needs for the town’s schools and industries and 8 percent for its homes. Working together with Coastal Engineering and Power Engineers, LLC, MGA provide geotechnical design and construction services for the new turbine.
