Self Storage Facility

MGA is currently providing construction observation services for a self-storage facility in South Boston, Massachusetts.  In order to properly prepare the site for the heavy service loads, ground improvement was chosen as the foundation support alternative after considering both the economic and environmental implications of the subsurface conditions.  MGA prepared a geotechnical report during the design phase, prepared project specifications, reviewed contractor submittals, and is currently observing installation of over 600 rammed aggregate piers, including pier load testing, for soil improvement prior to shallow foundation construction.
