Solar Projects

MGA recently completed geotechnical studies for several proposed solar farms in East Brookfield, West Brookfield, Norfolk, and Marshfield, Massachusetts. MGA observed subsurface exploration programs at three of the sites and provided recommendations for use in the design of pannel foundations, slabs, appurtenant structures and associated earthwork construction activities.  Two of the projects involved construction of the new solar fields on existing landfill caps with waste thicknesses of up to about 75 feet.  Through extensive landfill history research, consolidation parameters were extrapolated and settlement estimates performed for both projects.
