Our mission is to contribute to the success of our clients through technical excellence, practical experience and exceptional client service.
MGA specializes in providing geotechnical engineering design and groundwater hydrology services for clients who manage, maintain, and develop residential, commercial, municipal and industrial properties.
We provide the following services to both private and public sector clients in the New England area:
MGA’s goal is to provide our clients with the most cost effective and technically appropriate foundation system.
We develop comprehensive and site specific subsurface exploration programs to characterize the ground conditions. We then analyze the subsurface conditions and project requirements to determine the appropriate foundation design for the site.
MGA provides geotechnical engineering services for foundations and site development.
We are experienced in a wide range of geotechnical engineering aspects, including:
MGA provides construction observation services for various types of geotechnical construction activities.
Our presence on-site allows us to assess the contractor’s compliance with the project plans and specifications. In addition, it allows us to provide engineering input on a timely basis if subsurface conditions are found to vary from those anticipated prior to the start of construction.
MGA’s construction observation services include:
MGA performs preconstruction / preblast surveys of adjacent properties.
The objective of our services is to document the existing conditions (interior and/or exterior) of the accessible portions of the structures within a certain distance of those areas of the site where rock blasting is anticipated or construction activities have the potential to cause damage to neighboring structures.
Documentation resulting from the survey is retained for use in defending potential claims of damage to the identified properties from blasting operations.
MGA’s in-house soil laboratory is operated under the supervision of our principals and is an essential part of our geotechnical engineering capabilities.
Laboratory tests are performed to determine soil engineering properties in accordance with industry test methods and standard procedures, such as those recommended by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and other procedures. Equipment calibration and verification together with established data recording practices are part of our laboratory Quality Control. MGA also offers our laboratory testing services to other geotechnical consultants and public agencies.
